➤ Product Description
Opal:
Opal is often described in the jewelry world as a gemstone that embodies the beauty of all other gemstones. Some believe its value rivals that of world-renowned gems like diamonds and rubies. Since the 20th century, esteemed jewelers such as Cartier and Tiffany have featured opals in their haute couture collections.
Symbolizing the rainbow, opal brings a bright future to its wearer. Its clarity hints at pure love, leading it to be called "Cupid's Stone." Throughout history, opals have been favored by Western royalty. Empress Joséphine of France owned an opal necklace named "La Souveraine," and Queen Victoria gifted many opal jewels to her five daughters. In 1954, the Australian government presented a 205-carat Andamooka opal, set in a necklace, to Queen Elizabeth II; this necklace is known as "The Queen's Opal."
The ancient Roman naturalist Pliny once said: "On a single stone of opal, you can see the fire of a ruby, the purple hue of an amethyst, the green sea of an emerald, all blended in a symphony of color, a truly breathtaking spectacle."
(This piece features soft, vibrant pinks, oranges, and fluorescent yellows that are dazzling under light.)
(The sterling silver will be re-polished before shipping, so it will not appear black as in the photos.)
