The elongated beads are Roman glass, dating back to the Roman Empire (27 BCE – 395 CE). These tube-shaped beads were once part of bangles, which is why they have a slight curve. As they are ancient, minor chips may be present, but they do not affect everyday wear. The clear, oval beads are early 20th-century Bohemian glass. They show some age-related wear, which only adds to their captivating character. This iridescence, or *gingka*, occurs when glass is buried underground for centuries, causing a chemical reaction between the glass and soil components, resulting in this shimmering effect. It's a rare phenomenon, appearing only when specific conditions align. Cut amethysts are interspersed throughout, including smooth, teardrop-shaped amethysts. Some of these teardrop amethysts show subtle white crystalline inclusions. Tiny golden seed beads are made of Karen silver, plated with 18k gold.
