|░ Reasons to Love Jadeite ░|
"Jade nourishes the human body for three years; jade nourishes the human body for a lifetime."
Crystals possess powerful energy fields but require regular cleansing. Jadeite, a natural hard jade, is gentle and soothing. While its energy field may not be as strong as that of crystals, jadeite's inherent energy is pure and clean, bringing only beneficial influences and dispelling negative energy.
Currently, over 40 minerals have been discovered within jadeite. Its chemical composition is sodium aluminum silicate—NaAI[Si2 O6], often containing trace elements such as calcium (Ca), chromium (Cr), nickel (Ni), manganese (Mn), magnesium (Mg), and iron (Fe).
White: Basically contains no impurities.
Red: Contains trivalent iron. [2]
Black: Contains more than 2% chromium.
Green: Contains more than 2% chromium and divalent iron.
Yellow: Contains elemental iron.
Purple: Contains elemental manganese.
Blue: Essentially the same as green, but rarer than other colors.
Trace element "Calcium" (Ca) is the most abundant mineral in the human body, primarily distributed in bones and teeth, with calcium also present in blood and muscles. Calcium is a vital regulator of human life activities, fulfilling important physiological functions across all stages of growth and development, from youth to adulthood and old age. Calcium is an indispensable macro-mineral essential for human health and longevity.
Trace element "Chromium" (Cr) is crucial for maintaining normal physiological functions, preventing cardiovascular diseases, and aiding in blood sugar regulation. The human body cannot synthesize it independently and must obtain it through natural foods or supplements. For individuals with Type 2 diabetes, it can enhance insulin sensitivity. For those who are overweight, it is beneficial for controlling cholesterol and blood sugar. Chromium is lost at a faster rate in individuals under high stress compared to the general population, making it particularly important for these three groups.
Trace element "Nickel" (Ni) is an essential trace element for the human body. Adults typically contain about 6-10 mg of nickel, primarily found in the brain and liver. Nickel is absorbed in the human intestines, and unabsorbed nickel is mostly excreted through feces. Only 10-20% of nickel from food is absorbed by the human body.
Trace element "Manganese" (Mn) is another type of trace element that protects the body. Jadeite also contains this element. Long-term wear of jadeite can promote blood circulation, accelerate metabolism, alleviate aging, and prevent certain age-related diseases.
Trace element "Magnesium" (Mg) is also a macro-mineral essential for the human body. Like calcium, magnesium is a necessary nutrient for maintaining normal bone growth. Sufficient magnesium levels can effectively regulate calcium and maintain normal neuromuscular function, with both elements having a synergistic effect. Magnesium can inhibit platelet aggregation, so a deficiency may increase the risk of cardiovascular diseases. Furthermore, magnesium deficiency can lead to chronic inflammation and is associated with the development of many chronic diseases, particularly cardiovascular diseases. Some studies have shown that people who drink hard water, which has relatively higher levels of calcium and magnesium, have a lower mortality rate from cardiovascular diseases. Therefore, maintaining normal blood magnesium levels reduces the risk of atherosclerosis.
Trace element "Iron" (Fe) assists enzymes in biochemical reactions and metabolism, making it one of the "essential trace elements" for the human body. An adult body typically contains 3-5 grams of iron, with 60-70% distributed in red blood cells. Other cells also require iron to function smoothly.
Medical research suggests that jadeite possesses potent therapeutic capabilities. Long-term wear of jadeite can not only prevent illnesses but also alleviate or even treat certain conditions.
Treatment for Chest Tightness: Some individuals with weaker constitutions may occasionally experience chest tightness. Wearing a jadeite pendant can help treat common chest tightness by emitting energy into the "Long Han" (Dragon's Jaw) and "Shen Fu" (Spirit Palace) acupoints on the chest, achieving a thorough effect through continuous massage.
Traditional Chinese Medicine Theory: In TCM, jadeite is believed to have the effects of "clearing internal heat, moistening the lungs, nourishing hair, benefiting the five organs, calming the spirit, unblocking blood vessels, and improving vision and hearing."
Regularly wearing jadeite jewelry allows its trace elements to be absorbed by the skin, promoting coordinated balance of physiological functions in the body's organs.
Nourishing the Skin: Jadeite ornaments, whether necklaces, earrings, or bracelets, can come into direct contact with the skin. The mineral elements in jadeite are thus absorbed by the body, nourishing women's skin and making them appear fairer and more radiant.
Cooling Relief: The inherent coolness of jadeite provides a soothing and cooling sensation. In the Tang Dynasty, Yang Guifei was known to place jade in her mouth during summer to relieve heat. Since then, summer has become a time of cool refreshment. Jade pillows, bracelets, beds, and pendants are all used to combat the heat.
The above are scientifically-backed reasons for valuing jadeite. Another, less tangible reason, is its purported ability to offer a sense of comfort and solace, inexplicably healing one's mood when feeling down or stressed.
