These are SDGs jewelry pieces featuring Kintsugi, upcycled from ceramics by Fukukikama, who crafts Kyo-yaki and Kiyomizu-yaki pottery in Uji City, Kyoto Prefecture. Broken or chipped pottery that is no longer in use is repurposed, finished with Kintsugi, and transformed into accessories. The concept behind these pieces is to allow people to feel closer to nature and Japan's enduring traditions, by breathing new life into them and creating modern accessories that connect to the future, thus fostering new possibilities. We've paired delicate, pale purple shards with hand-painted designs with carnelian. Kintsugi is applied to the sides of the pottery shards, allowing the gold to shine from the profile and lending an air of sophistication.
