Soho is a dye extracted from the core of trees and was imported during the Asuka period. It has been used to dye the clothes of court nobles, and as a medicinal plant, it has been a useful medicine for women since ancient times. Lac dai is a purified resinous extract of the lac scale insect. It is used in Chinese medicine as a hemostatic agent and antibacterial agent, and has been used by humans since ancient times as a dye. Since it is a thin large size, you can fold it and layer it to create a deep color. When worn as a single layer, it allows the light to shine through, making it bright and refreshing. We hand-dye the fabric (Chita Momen) woven for the stoles from unbleached organic cotton, which is also used for baby products. The fabric is washed many times before and after dyeing, so it feels very soft to the touch. It has a refreshing and gentle feel that soothes your skin. When folded, it becomes compact, and when it's cold, you can wrap it around your neck for warmth, or use it as a lap blanket.
