**> Colors**
All photos are taken in natural light. Colors may vary depending on the equipment, weather, and screen display. Please be aware!
**Cinnabar, being a natural mineral, will exhibit variations in color between different batches, even within the same category.**
Purple-gold cinnabar is a deep red with a noticeable granular texture.
Emperor cinnabar is a deeper shade than bright red, fine, and lustrous.
Raw cinnabar is a bright red, even finer.
**Cinnabar ornaments are made by pressing cinnabar powder and amber powder into molds, followed by meticulous hand carving.**
Due to differences in craftsmanship between round beads and intricate carvings, round beads are typically high-polished to achieve a glossy effect. Intricate carvings are micro-polished to preserve the clarity and detail of the patterns, generally resulting in a matte finish.**

**> Cinnabar**
The earliest textual records refer to cinnabar with a single character, "丹" (dān). "丹" is a pictographic character. Ancient miners would excavate pits, and from these pits, they would extract minerals. Thus, the character "丹" is essentially the character "井" (jǐng, well) with a dot in the middle, signifying the extraction of something from a dug mine – this something being cinnabar.
Because cinnabar is red, often a deep red, "朱" (zhū) also means red. Later, cinnabar came to be called "朱砂" (zhūshā). "丹" and "朱" describe the color, and "砂" describes the shape, referring to irregularly shaped granular minerals.
Cinnabar's color is enduring. Chinese calligraphy and painting are known as "丹青" (dānqīng), where "丹" refers to cinnabar. An indispensable component of inks, the "Eight Treasures Seal Paste," also has cinnabar as its main ingredient.
From a Feng Shui perspective, cinnabar is collected from minerals that have absorbed the essence of the sun and moon, thereby absorbing the positive energy of heaven and earth. Consequently, cinnabar possesses a powerful yang energy field. We can observe that jade feels cool to the touch, while cinnabar held in the hand feels warm.
Since ancient times, cinnabar has been utilized in various Taoist practices such as drawing talismans, consecration rituals, warding off evil, and suppressing malevolent forces. Cinnabar has long been regarded as a supreme treasure for inviting good fortune, transforming luck, suppressing negative influences, dispelling evil, attracting blessings, and accumulating wealth. It carries auspicious meanings of overwhelming good fortune, wealth, and well-being.
The "Shen Nong Ben Cao Jing" (Classic of Materia Medica) lists cinnabar as a superior herbal medicine, frequently used in treatments to calm the spirit, detoxify, and alleviate insomnia with excessive dreaming.
Living in the modern era, owning one or two cinnabar artifacts can also aid in self-cultivation, benefiting both the eyes and the mind.
**> Identification**
**All cinnabar products in this store are of high cinnabar content and have a strong sense of weight. The following methods can be used for identification:**
>. Burning cinnabar will turn it black. (Please heat it indirectly. It is generally not recommended to directly burn finished products as it is difficult to control the time and area. If it turns black after prolonged heating, it cannot be restored.)
>. True cinnabar can draw an orange-red line on paper. (To avoid damaging the appearance of the finished product, please choose an inconspicuous area to draw the line, or use the complimentary bead for testing.)
**> Care and Maintenance**
1. Avoid Corrosion
Cinnabar is a mineral and is insoluble in water. However, frequent contact with chemicals such as soap and shower gel can cause corrosion.
2. Avoid Contact with Metals
The mineral elements in cinnabar can absorb metal ions, leading to an irreversible darkening and dulling of the cinnabar.
3. Avoid High Temperatures
The mercury sulfide component in cinnabar only releases at temperatures of 380 degrees Celsius. Therefore, as long as cinnabar jewelry is kept away from high-temperature environments during normal wear, it can be worn with peace of mind.
4. Avoid Collisions with Hard or Sharp Objects
Cinnabar has a high hardness but is brittle; take care to prevent falls.
5. How to Clean
If the cinnabar appears dirty, do not soak it in water, as this can alter its original luster! Gently wipe it several times with a slightly damp cotton cloth and let it air dry for a while.
6. Oiling for Maintenance
Apply a layer of white tea oil or olive oil to the finished product, allowing the surface to absorb the oil, making it more lustrous and bright. If applying oil, seal it in a brocade box, perhaps wrapping it in plastic wrap to prevent the oil from staining the brocade lining.
7. Frequent Handling
Regularly handle the cinnabar jewelry worn on the body. This allows the surface to acquire a very thin layer of natural oils, which over time will give it a more antique and elegant appearance.
The actual item is more exquisite and beautiful than the photos.
