|░ Reasons to Love Jadeite ░|
"A person nourishes jade for three years, and jade nourishes a person for a lifetime."
Crystals possess a powerful energy field but require regular cleansing. Jadeite, a natural hard jade, is gentle and soothing. While its energy field may not be as potent as crystals, jadeite's inherent energy is exceptionally pure and clean, offering only beneficial influences and dispelling negative energy.
Currently, over 40 minerals have been identified in jadeite. Its chemical composition is sodium aluminum silicate—NaAI〔Si2 O6〕, often containing trace elements such as Calcium (Ca), Chromium (Cr), Nickel (Ni), Manganese (Mn), Magnesium (Mg), and Iron (Fe).
White: Essentially free of impurities.
Red: Contains trivalent iron. [2]
Black: Contains over 2% chromium.
Green: Contains over 2% chromium and divalent iron.
Yellow: Contains elemental iron.
Purple: Contains manganese.
Blue: Similar to green but rarer than other colors.
The trace element "Calcium" (Ca) is the most abundant mineral in the human body, primarily distributed in bones and teeth, with its presence also in blood and muscles. Calcium is a vital regulator of bodily functions throughout all stages of life, from youth to adulthood and into old age. It fulfills crucial physiological roles and is an indispensable macronutrient essential for human health and longevity.
The trace element "Chromium" (Cr) is significantly important for maintaining normal physiological functions, helping to prevent cardiovascular diseases, and aiding in blood sugar regulation. The human body cannot synthesize it independently and must absorb it through natural foods or supplements. For individuals with Type 2 diabetes, chromium can enhance insulin sensitivity. For those who are overweight, it aids in managing cholesterol and blood sugar levels. Individuals experiencing high stress levels lose chromium at a faster rate than normal, making these three groups particularly in need of chromium.
The trace element "Nickel" (Ni) is an indispensable trace element for the human body. Adults typically contain 6-10 mg of nickel, primarily concentrated in the brain and liver. Nickel is absorbed in the intestines, with unabsorbed nickel mostly excreted in feces. Only 10-20% of nickel from food is absorbed by the body.
The trace element "Manganese" (Mn) is another type of trace element that protects the body. Jadeite also contains this element. Long-term wear of jadeite can promote blood circulation, accelerate metabolism, alleviate aging, and prevent certain age-related diseases.
The trace element "Magnesium" (Mg) is also a macronutrient that the human body cannot lack. Like calcium, magnesium is essential for normal bone growth. Sufficient magnesium effectively regulates calcium and maintains normal nerve and muscle function, with both working synergistically. Magnesium can inhibit platelet aggregation, so deficiency may increase the risk of cardiovascular diseases. Furthermore, magnesium deficiency can lead to chronic inflammation within the body, which is associated with the occurrence of many chronic diseases, particularly cardiovascular mortality. Some studies have shown that individuals who drink hard water, which has relatively higher calcium and magnesium content, have a lower risk of cardiovascular disease mortality. Therefore, maintaining normal blood magnesium levels lowers the risk of developing atherosclerosis.
The trace element "Iron" (Fe) assists enzymes in biochemical reactions and metabolism, making it one of the "essential trace elements" for the human body. The adult body typically contains 3-5 grams of iron, with six to seven-tenths distributed in red blood cells. Other cells also require iron to function properly.
Medical research reveals that jadeite possesses significant therapeutic capabilities. Long-term wear of jadeite can not only prevent diseases but also alleviate or even treat certain conditions.
Treating Chest Tightness: Some individuals with weaker constitutions may occasionally experience chest tightness. Wearing a jadeite pendant can help treat common chest tightness. The jadeite pendant emits energy into the "Long Han" and "Shen Fu" acupoints on the chest. Through continuous massage, it can achieve a lasting effect.
Traditional Chinese Medicine Theory: In TCM, jadeite is believed to have the effects of "clearing middle-path heat, moistening the heart and lungs, nourishing hair, supporting the five internal organs, calming the spirit, clearing blood vessels, and brightening the senses."
Regularly wearing jadeite jewelry allows its trace elements to be absorbed by the skin, promoting the coordinated balance of physiological functions in the body's organs.
Nourishing the Skin: Jadeite accessories, whether necklaces, earrings, or bracelets, can directly contact the skin. The mineral elements within the jadeite enter the body through this contact, nourishing women's skin and making them appear fairer and more radiant.
Relieving Summer Heat: Jadeite's cool properties offer a soothing and cooling sensation. During the Tang Dynasty, Yang Guifei would hold jade in her mouth to relieve summer heat, making summers a time of cool refreshment thereafter. Jade pillows, bracelets, beds, and pendants all serve to alleviate heat.
The above are scientifically-backed reasons for valuing jadeite. Another, less tangible reason is that when feeling down or stressed, gazing at jadeite can provide an inexplicable sense of emotional healing, as if receiving comfort.
