|░ Reasons to Love Jadeite ░|
"A person nurtures jade for three years, and jade nurtures a person for a lifetime."
Crystals possess powerful energy fields, but they require regular cleansing. Jadeite is a natural hard jade, known for its gentle and soothing properties. While its energy field may not be as strong as a crystal's, jadeite's inherent energy is exceptionally pure and clean, bringing only beneficial influences and dispelling negative energy.
Currently, over 40 minerals have been identified in jadeite. Its chemical composition is sodium aluminum silicate (NaAI[Si2O6]), often containing trace elements such as calcium (Ca), chromium (Cr), nickel (Ni), manganese (Mn), magnesium (Mg), and iron (Fe).
White: Generally contains few impurities.
Red: Contains trivalent iron.
Black: Contains more than 2% chromium.
Green: Contains more than 2% chromium and divalent iron.
Yellow: Contains elemental iron.
Purple: Contains elemental manganese.
Blue: Similar to green, but rarer.
Trace element "Calcium" (Ca) is the most abundant mineral in the human body, primarily found in bones and teeth, with presence also in blood and muscles. Calcium is a crucial regulator of bodily functions throughout life, from childhood to adulthood and old age, playing vital physiological roles. It is an indispensable macro-mineral essential for human health and longevity.
Trace element "Chromium" (Cr) is significantly important for maintaining normal physiological functions, helping to prevent cardiovascular diseases, and regulating blood sugar. The human body cannot synthesize it independently, requiring absorption through natural foods or supplements. It can enhance insulin sensitivity in individuals with type 2 diabetes, aid in controlling cholesterol and blood sugar for those who are overweight, and its depletion rate is faster under high stress. Therefore, these three groups particularly need it.
Trace element "Nickel" (Ni) is an indispensable trace element for the human body. Adults typically contain about 6-10 mg of nickel, mainly in the brain and liver. Nickel is absorbed in the intestines, with unabsorbed portions excreted through feces. Only 10-20% of nickel from food is absorbed by the body.
Trace element "Manganese" (Mn) is another type of trace element that protects the body. Jadeite also contains this element. Long-term wear of jadeite can promote blood circulation, accelerate metabolism, alleviate aging, and prevent certain age-related diseases.
Trace element "Magnesium" (Mg) is also a macro-mineral essential for the human body. Like calcium, magnesium is a necessary nutrient for normal bone growth. Sufficient magnesium effectively regulates calcium and maintains normal neuromuscular function, with both elements having a synergistic effect. Magnesium can inhibit platelet aggregation, so deficiency may increase the risk of cardiovascular diseases. Furthermore, magnesium deficiency can lead to chronic inflammation and is associated with the onset of many chronic diseases, particularly cardiovascular mortality. Some studies have shown that people who drink hard water, with relatively higher calcium and magnesium content, have lower cardiovascular mortality rates. Therefore, maintaining normal blood magnesium levels reduces the risk of atherosclerosis.
Trace element "Iron" (Fe) aids enzymes in biochemical reactions and metabolism, making it one of the "essential trace elements." Adults typically have 3-5 grams of iron, with sixty to seventy percent distributed in red blood cells. Other cells also require iron to function properly.
Medical research suggests that jadeite possesses powerful therapeutic capabilities. Long-term wear of jadeite can not only prevent diseases but also alleviate and even treat certain conditions.
Relieving Chest Tightness: Some individuals with weaker constitutions may experience chest tightness. Wearing a jadeite pendant can help alleviate this common symptom. The jadeite pendant emits energy into the "Longhan" (Dragon's Jaw) and "Shenfu" (Spirit Mansion) acupoints on the chest. Continuous gentle massage can achieve a lasting effect.
Traditional Chinese Medicine Theory: In TCM, jadeite is believed to have properties that "clear internal heat, moisten the heart and lungs, nourish hair, benefit the five organs, calm the spirit, promote blood circulation, and sharpen the senses."
Regularly wearing jadeite jewelry allows the trace elements to be absorbed by the skin, aiding in the coordination and balance of physiological functions in various organs.
Nourishing the Skin: Jadeite accessories, whether necklaces, earrings, or bracelets, come into direct contact with the skin. Mineral elements within the jadeite are thus absorbed by the body, nourishing the skin and making women appear fairer and more radiant.
Cooling down: The naturally cool nature of jadeite provides a soothing and cooling sensation to the touch. In the Tang Dynasty, Emperor Xuanzong's beloved consort, Yang Guifei, would hold jade in her mouth during summer to cool down. Since then, summer has become a time of refreshing coolness. Jade pillows, bracelets, beds, and pendants are used to combat the heat.
The above are evidence-based reasons for the benefits of jadeite. Another, less tangible reason, is its comforting effect when feeling down or stressed; gazing at jadeite can bring an inexplicable sense of solace, as if receiving a gentle reassurance.
