One item, one photo.** **About Opal** Color is the fundamental attribute of most gemstones. Among the variations in color, the most significant is the "play-of-color" in opals. Opal, derived from the Latin word "opalus," meaning "to gather the beauty of gemstones," is renowned worldwide for its magical and beautiful play-of-color. It is also a symbol of nobility and status. The famous English writer Shakespeare once described opal as "this miracle, worthy of being called the queen of gems." Its colors are incredibly diverse; viewed from different angles, different colors emerge. Each piece of opal is unique, making it highly collectible. Opals come in various types, including black opal, white opal (moonstone), fire opal, and matrix opal. Opal is composed of silica spheres. These spherical structures are invisible to the naked eye and can only be seen under an electron microscope. The color changes are caused by diffraction and interference – it’s a bit complex, but essentially, light plays hide-and-seek with the gaps between these spherical structures! **Opal Care & Storage** If you have purchased natural opals or pearls, please be particularly mindful to avoid environments that are too humid or have extreme temperature fluctuations. Temperature and humidity can accelerate the decomposition or oxidation of organic gemstones. Due to their hardness and formation state, it is also advisable to avoid hot springs and hot baths, as well as products containing cleaning agents. Opal is a delicate gemstone that actually requires a bit of moisture for maintenance. Therefore, a desiccant is not included in the storage pouch. Naturally, like other gemstones, do not wear them while bathing or in hot springs. Avoid using silver polishing cloths to clean opals; instead, use a clean, dry cloth or a slightly damp cloth. We will provide a jewelry polishing cloth. After wearing, gently wipe the ring clean and store it in the gemstone pouch. For all-natural gemstone and metal jewelry, it is not recommended to wear them while bathing or in hot springs, as chemicals can cause adverse reactions. Avoid direct contact with perfumes and bleach. Also, do not store jewelry in bathrooms or kitchens, as this can accelerate oxidation. For sterling silver or K-gold jewelry, when not in wear, try to isolate them from moisture and air. Wipe them clean with a dry cloth or the provided polishing cloth, then store them in a PVC zip-lock bag. Each piece of jewelry should be stored separately to prevent scratches from collision with other jewelry or hard objects. A Japanese imported desiccant is included in the zip-lock bag. **Natural Stone Inclusions** The natural stones used in NOW Design are collected from around the world, and each piece is unique, often resulting in a single product. These are specially selected natural stones, and we showcase their colors from different angles and under various lighting conditions to our clients. Natural stones may have internal impurities (inclusions), which are unavoidable. If this is a concern, we do not recommend purchasing.
