To make the experience effortless, the studio has pre-prepared about 70% of the project, ensuring that creating your leather piece is remarkably straightforward. The only skills you'll practice are "punching stitch holes with a diamond chisel" and "traditional saddle stitching with two needles"—fundamental techniques in leather handcrafting. The studio handles all other intricate details of the creation process. Using the included ID card holder as an example, we'll pre-apply the plastic film, smooth the leather edges, and complete the initial stitching that secures the film. All leather pieces will be assembled and adhered, leaving you to complete the final round of stitching. While seemingly simple, based on our studio's years of teaching experience, beginners with no prior leather crafting experience typically require 1.5 to 2.5 hours or more to complete the project. Due to the plant tannins within the leather interacting with air and sunlight, the leather's surface color gradually deepens over time. This allows leather goods made from vegetable-tanned hide to evolve uniquely with time and user habits, creating a one-of-a-kind piece. As such, ranchers don't meticulously protect the animals' skin. Consequently, cattle may acquire marks from insect bites, scratches, or thorns during their lives. Free-ranging cattle might also bear branding scars, and as they grow, natural lines and wrinkles develop. In cases of difficult births, a mother cow might have surgical closure marks. During the process of harvesting the animal for meat, skinning can also result in cuts. These inherent marks are faithfully preserved on the leather when it's transformed into a finished product, serving as a testament to the animal's life.
