🌞 **Beginner's Workshop: Course Details**

This introductory workshop is thoughtfully designed for those who prefer a more relaxed approach to leathercraft, without requiring a significant time commitment. It's perfect for individuals new to handmade leather goods or anyone wishing to create a heartfelt gift. To ensure a smooth experience, about 70% of the crafting process is pre-completed by the studio, making leatherworking feel wonderfully accessible. The only techniques you'll learn are 'punching stitching holes with a diamond chisel' and 'professional double-needle stitching'—fundamental skills in leather handcraft. The studio handles all other intricate crafting details.
Using the ID card holder as an example, we'll pre-apply the protective film, smooth the leather edges, and complete the initial stitching to secure the film. All leather pieces will be assembled and adhered, leaving you to complete the final round of stitching. While it may seem simple, our studio's extensive teaching experience shows that beginners typically take 1.5 to 2.5 hours or more to complete.

This item is crafted from vegetable-tanned cowhide. Vegetable-tanned leather is known for its firm texture and durability. In Taiwan's earlier days, before plastics were widespread, many products utilized vegetable-tanned cowhide, such as drive belts for machinery, bicycle saddles, agricultural tools, and military accessories.

A characteristic of vegetable-tanned leather is its evolving color. The natural tannins in the leather react with air and sunlight, causing the color to deepen gradually over time. Combined with the natural oils from your hands and the friction from daily use, the leather develops a rich, lustrous patina. This dynamic transformation, unique to each user and piece, is precisely why many handmade leather enthusiasts cherish vegetable-tanned leather. It becomes a testament to the passage of time and personal experience.

Cattle are primarily raised for meat and dairy products, not for leather. Hide is a byproduct of the livestock industry, meaning farmers do not prioritize protecting the animals' skin. Consequently, cattle may acquire marks from insect bites, scratches, or thorns. Free-ranging animals might bear brands, and their growth naturally results in lines and wrinkles. In cases of difficult birth, a cow might have surgical stitching marks. During the process of harvesting the animal for meat, skinning can also cause knife marks. These natural markings are faithfully preserved on the leather when it's transformed into a finished product, serving as proof of the animal's life journey. Therefore, any such marks on your leather goods are indicators of genuine, unprocessed leather, free from artificial coatings.

Many Taiwanese leather brands tend to avoid vegetable-tanned leather with natural grain, often opting for processed leather with sanded surfaces and spray coatings for a flawless appearance. However, DOZI Leathercraft embraces these natural markings. Unless they are excessively large, we incorporate them into our designs. As the leather ages, darkens, and develops a sheen from use, these inherent marks, alongside signs of wear, contribute to the piece's unique character.

🌞 **Care and Maintenance**
--------------------
Regular use is the best form of care. Please avoid storing leather in humid environments. If the leather becomes wet, wipe it immediately with a dry cloth and let it air dry in a cool, well-ventilated area. Do not expose it to direct sunlight, as this can cause the leather to harden and degrade. Once dry, you can apply leather conditioner to replenish its oils. A waterproofing spray can also be used to protect against accidental spills and enhance surface durability. For storage or prolonged periods of non-use, place the leather item in a dehumidifying cabinet set to 50%-60% humidity to prevent mold, or use a sealed bag with a desiccant. During storage, regularly apply leather conditioner to prevent the surface from cracking due to dryness.

1. Booking a time slot indicates your desired class time. A dedicated staff member will contact you to confirm the actual class schedule, which may be adjusted based on instructor availability and material preparation. If we cannot accommodate your preferred time due to our schedule, all fees will be refunded. In cases of unavoidable circumstances such as weather, government orders, pandemics, or natural disasters, your payment will be held, and a new class time will be arranged through discussion.
2. This booking is for individual classes at our fixed location. For corporate events, school groups, team-building activities, or brand events requiring on-site instruction at your location, please contact the studio directly for separate arrangements. Do not book through this platform.
3. On-site classes include DIY letter stamping with uppercase English letters, numbers, and symbols. Value-added services like 'laser engraving' and 'hot foil stamping' must be completed before leather pieces are assembled and cannot be accommodated during scheduled workshops.
4. The product warranty is valid for one year from the date of purchase. During this period, repairs and maintenance are available at our store. Excluding human-induced damage, there will be no charge for repairs. Beyond the first year, complimentary leather maintenance services are provided, with a nominal fee for repairs.
5. Our studio favors natural leather materials. The cowhide is not excessively processed or coated, so minor variations in color, texture, and natural markings are to be expected. If you require a perfectly flawless surface, this may not be the ideal choice, and we regret that we cannot accommodate requests for "flawless leather." Should you have alternative ideas or requirements for the workshop materials on-site, you may reschedule your class, but transportation compensation cannot be provided.
