|░ Why We Love Jadeite ░|
"A person nurtures jade for three years; jade nurtures a person for a lifetime."
Crystals possess powerful energy fields but require regular cleansing. Jadeite, a natural hard jade, is known for its gentle and mild properties. While its energy field may not be as strong as crystals, jadeite's inherent energy is exceptionally clean and pure, offering only beneficial influences and dispelling negative energy.
Currently, over 40 minerals have been identified in jadeite. Its chemical composition is sodium aluminum silicate—NaAI〔Si2 O6〕, often containing trace elements such as calcium (Ca), chromium (Cr), nickel (Ni), manganese (Mn), magnesium (Mg), and iron (Fe).
White jadeite generally contains no impurities.
Red jadeite contains trivalent iron.
Black jadeite contains over 2% chromium.
Green jadeite contains over 2% chromium and divalent iron.
Yellow jadeite contains iron.
Purple jadeite contains manganese.
Blue jadeite is generally similar to green but is rarer.
Trace element "calcium" (Ca) is the most abundant mineral in the human body, primarily found in bones and teeth, with presence also in blood and muscles. Calcium is a vital regulator of bodily functions throughout all life stages, from youth to adulthood and old age. It is an essential macro-mineral indispensable for human health and longevity.
Trace element "chromium" (Cr) is crucial for maintaining normal physiological functions, preventing cardiovascular diseases, and helping regulate blood sugar. The body cannot synthesize it independently and must obtain it through natural foods or supplements. Chromium can enhance insulin sensitivity in individuals with type 2 diabetes, aid in controlling cholesterol and blood sugar for those who are overweight, and is lost faster under high-stress conditions. Therefore, these three groups particularly benefit from chromium.
Trace element "nickel" (Ni) is an essential trace element for the human body. An adult typically contains 6-10 mg of nickel, mainly concentrated in the brain and liver. Nickel is absorbed in the intestines, with unabsorbed nickel primarily excreted through feces. Only 10-20% of nickel from food is absorbed by the body.
Trace element "manganese" (Mn) is another protective trace element found in the body and also present in jadeite. Long-term wear of jadeite can promote blood circulation, accelerate metabolism, slow aging, and prevent certain age-related diseases.
Trace element "magnesium" (Mg) is also a macro-mineral essential for the human body. Like calcium, magnesium is necessary for normal bone growth. Sufficient magnesium effectively regulates calcium and maintains normal nerve and muscle function, with both minerals having a synergistic effect. Magnesium can inhibit platelet aggregation, so a deficiency may increase the risk of cardiovascular disease. Furthermore, magnesium deficiency can lead to chronic inflammation and is associated with the onset of many chronic diseases, particularly cardiovascular mortality. Studies have shown that individuals who drink hard water, which has relatively high calcium and magnesium content, have a lower mortality rate from cardiovascular diseases. Therefore, normal blood magnesium levels reduce the risk of atherosclerosis.
Trace element "iron" (Fe) aids enzymes in biochemical reactions and metabolism, making it an essential trace element. An adult body typically contains 3-5 grams of iron, with 60-70% located in red blood cells; other cells also require iron for their proper functioning.
Medical research reveals the potent healing capabilities of jadeite. Long-term wear can not only prevent illnesses but also alleviate or even treat certain conditions.
Treating chest tightness: Some individuals with weaker constitutions may experience chest tightness. Wearing a jadeite pendant can help treat this common ailment. The jadeite pendant emits energy that stimulates the "Long Han" and "Shen Fu" acupoints on the chest, and continuous massage can lead to a complete recovery.
Traditional Chinese Medicine Theory: In TCM, jadeite is believed to have the effects of "clearing internal heat, moistening the heart and lungs, nourishing hair and skin, benefiting the five organs, calming the spirit, clearing blood vessels, and enhancing vision and hearing."
Regularly wearing jadeite allows its trace elements to be absorbed by the skin, helping to harmonize and balance the physiological functions of the body's organs.
Nourishing the skin: Jadeite jewelry, whether necklaces, earrings, or bracelets, comes into direct contact with the skin. The mineral elements in jadeite are absorbed by the body, nourishing the skin and making it appear fairer and more radiant.
Cooling relief: The cool, soothing nature of jadeite provides therapeutic relief from heat. In the Tang Dynasty, Emperor Xuanzong's beloved consort, Yang Guifei, would hold jade in her mouth to combat the summer heat, ushering in an era of cool summer days. Jade pillows, bracelets, beds, and pendants were all used for cooling purposes.
The above are evidence-based reasons for the benefits of jadeite. Another, less tangible reason is its comforting effect when one feels down or stressed; gazing at jadeite can inexplicably uplift the mood, offering a sense of solace.
