Medusa's Eye

Medusa was originally a beautiful maiden and a priestess in the Temple of Athena, admired by Poseidon, the god of the sea. One night, Poseidon forcefully took her, and from their union, a winged horse was born. Athena, already jealous of Medusa's beauty, became enraged upon hearing this. Driven by anger and jealousy, she indiscriminately transformed Medusa into a Gorgon with snakes for hair, thus beginning her tragic fate. "Strong" love can often spoil beautiful romance. When love is expressed imma­turely, mingled with excessive self-awareness and a disregard for the other's needs, it ceases to be pure. Let us constantly remind ourselves that love, given in the way the other needs, is complete love.
