About the Leather: Vegetable-tanned cowhide is a leather that ages beautifully. Tanning is one of the oldest methods, using tanning agents derived from plants like tannic acid. This process involves repeatedly soaking the hide in tanning solutions of varying concentrations, taking one to two months to complete. Vegetable-tanned leather is free from harmful chemicals like heavy metals, making it safe for skin contact, and it retains the leather's natural texture. Over time, with exposure to sunlight and moisture, the leather develops a unique luster, deepens in color, and reveals its own story of use – a process often referred to as 'leather nurturing'! Leather de Home's watch straps are crafted using traditional saddle stitching, which is more durable than machine stitching. The edges are meticulously sanded from coarse to fine, then polished to a smooth, natural finish. These custom leather watch straps are compatible with various watch brands.
