It's perfect for individuals new to handmade leather goods or anyone looking to craft a heartfelt gift. To simplify the process, approximately 70% of the work is pre-prepared in the studio, making the leathercraft experience remarkably accessible. The techniques you'll learn are limited to "punching stitch holes with a diamond chisel" and "professional hand-stitching with a double needle"—fundamental skills in leathercraft. The studio handles all other intricate construction details. Using the ID card holder as an example, we will pre-apply the protective film, smooth and polish the leather edges, and complete the initial stitching that secures the film. All leather pieces will be assembled and glued, leaving you to complete the final round of stitching. While it appears simple, our studio's extensive teaching experience shows that beginners typically require 1.5 to 2.5 hours to complete. The surface color gradually darkens. Coupled with the natural oils from your hands and friction from daily use, it develops a lustrous patina. Leather is a byproduct of the livestock industry. Consequently, farmers do not prioritize protecting the cattle's skin. During their lives, cattle may experience insect bites, scratches, thorns, or branding marks from free-range grazing. Growth lines and wrinkles are also natural occurrences. Difficult births may even result in surgical scars. During the process of slaughtering for meat, skinning can cause cuts. These marks are faithfully preserved on the leather when it's transformed into a finished product, serving as a testament to the animal's life. We believe that as the leather darkens and develops a patina with use, these inherent marks, combined with signs of wear, contribute to the unique character of each piece. 🌞 Color Selection -------------------- The photos displayed are of the actual leather material. Colors may vary due to differences in lighting and screen displays. Avoid storing leather in humid environments. If the leather becomes wet, immediately wipe it dry with a clean cloth and allow it to air dry in a cool, well-ventilated area. Do not expose it to direct sunlight, as this can cause the leather to harden and deteriorate. Once dry, you can apply leather conditioner to replenish oils or use a waterproofing spray to protect against accidental spills. For storage or long periods of non-use, place the item in a dehumidifying cabinet set to 50%-60% humidity to prevent mold, or use a sealed bag with a desiccant.
