As Pontis Almazara embarked on an oil making journey in early November 2008 and established its own extra virgin olive oil brand Vieiru. Although there is no ancient and long history, in just a few years it has become one of Spain's most advanced technology and machinery oil production plant. From the beginning, the As Pontis Almazara oil plant believed that "there is no better olive oil, only better"
"We aim to make better oil every year, and hope that our efforts will make all our customers smile"-Miguel Carrasco, founder of As Pontis Vieiru
In addition to producing superior olive oil, As Pontis Almazara is an oil factory known for respecting the environment. To this end, the As Pontis Almazara oil plant insists on not generating waste. To this end, As Pontis Almazara has specially constructed a waste material, sewage treatment plant and biochemical boilers to make the waste generated in the process through a 100% environmentally sound place and convert the waste material into reusable products, energy and Return the fertilizer to the earth. Oil residue and pomace will be sent to the olive oil residue separation plant for processing; olive kernels and leaves are used in the same way as other raw materials in biomass boilers, and they will be replaced with raw materials. The facility filters and converts it into clean water, which is used to wash the sludge from the olives; the sludge is used as fertilizer for the olive orchard after drying.
The birth of Vieiru comes from As Pontis Almazara's passion for Caceres Manzanilla. I sincerely look forward to sharing this special olive oil with those who love me, and savoring gifts from nature.
As Pontis Almazara is located in the "Hiergarta Natural Ecological Manor" in the Gata Mountains, northwest of Extremadura, Spain. The farmer in the manor takes care of the olive trees year round, does not fear the wind and the heat, and prunes and irrigates every year. Limited production of the rare and valuable "small apple olive". Only 10% of the world's olive oil comes from the small apple olive variety, which is as precious as Hermes in the olive world.
Every October, artificial harvesting is performed, and each one is selected by hand to ensure the integrity and maturity of the olives. After the olives are manually selected, they are screened for olive size by a secondary machine, carefully processed and quickly transported to the As Pontis Almazara mill in 4-7 hours and completed the pressing operation to obtain the best quality small apple extra cold pressed virgin olive oil.
