Plastic waste pollution problem: According to statistics from the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), of the approximately 300 million tons of plastic waste produced globally every year, only 9% is recycled and reused, while approximately 8 million tons of plastic waste flows into the ocean!

Food waste problem: 2 billion people around the world do not have access to enough nutritious food, and 700 million people are hungry; according to the 2021 United Nations Environment Program Food Waste Index Report (UNEP Food Waste Index Report 2021), more than 9.3% of the world’s food waste is wasted every year. Billions of tons of food, of which nearly 570 million tons come from household waste!
