Through this new technology (patent pending), antimicrobial agents are embedded layer by layer within 3D printed structures, creating a positively charged layer on their surface. Once bacteria or coronaviruses adhere to the surface of IMU+® materials, their cell walls or envelopes instantly rupture, neutralizing them and rendering them non-infectious. Even if the material surface is abraded, the antimicrobial agents within the inner layers continue to maintain the product's antimicrobial and antiviral efficacy.
