Like a close friend, or family watching over you with kindness. This is a handmade art doll created to be such a soothing presence. "Future Form (Mirai-chan)" is a unique piece, yet it is a work that allows you to welcome the next iteration. Now that generative AI has begun to blend into our daily lives, this "future presence" was born from imagining the form that might emerge beyond it. It takes the shape of a human, yet it is somehow just a little different. It is neither a being from the future nor a perfected human. It is a "Future Form" still in progress, at a stage where it is being tested. The pose, taking a step forward, embodies its status as a being just beginning to exist. The cardboard box and plastic bag are also composed as part of the work, meant to express the "moment of appearance" for this entity. 【What it means to welcome the next iteration】 Each Mirai-chan is assigned a unique serial number. 000123 was sold after receiving the Semi-Grand Prize and the Fukushima Mayor's Award at the "Doll Art Exhibition 2026 in Utsukushima: 10th Creative Doll Competition." Afterward, 000124 was created at the request of someone who had seen 000123. Furthermore, 000125 was born from an order overseas via Instagram. While inheriting the same concept and worldview, the facial expression, the texture of the paper, and the fine details differ for each individual piece. Therefore, this is not a "resale" that reproduces past pieces exactly. It is a made-to-order creation of a new individual born within the same world. You can also see previous pieces on the following pages. 000123 000124 000125 【About Made-to-Order】 This is an **Artist-led Commission** where the artist decides to bring a new individual into existence. It is not based on specific design requests from the customer, but rather created one by one by the artist based on the concept and worldview of "Future Form (Mirai-chan)." Therefore, we do not accept individual requests for: ・Facial expressions ・Poses ・Costumes or decorations ・Paper colors or patterns It is not a matter of "the same as the previous one," but rather, it is crafted as a new Mirai-chan coming to you. The creation process will be shared on Instagram. 【Materials & Craftsmanship】 Handmade Nepalese Lokta paper is used as the primary material. Sculpting is done by layering Lokta paper dyed with walnut and pomegranate, followed by applying numerous layers of finely torn paper pieces. Because the face and body are made entirely by hand without using molds, each piece has a unique expression and paper texture. The joints feature a faux design inspired by ball-jointed dolls and sci-fi robots. Emphasis is placed on the "persuasiveness of its existence as a robot doll" rather than mobility. 【Specifications & Size】 ・Height: Approx. 30cm ±5cm ・Display space: Approx. 14cm × 14cm ・Custom presentation box ・Certificate of authenticity ・Story card ・Making-of photos *Details, sizes, and paper textures may vary by individual piece. 【Production Period & Care】 Production takes up to 75 days after confirmation of order and payment. As everything is handmade, this may vary depending on the production status. Since paper is the primary material, please enjoy indoors and avoid water, high humidity, direct sunlight, and high temperatures. 【About the Artist】 Creates unique handmade art dolls and miniature works using Japanese paper (washi) as the main material. ■ 12th Discover The One Japanese Art, Popular Artist Award (2023) ■ 11th Craft Art Creative Doll Exhibition, Hankyu Umeda Main Store Art Gallery Award (2024) ■ Doll Art Exhibition 2026 in Utsukushima, 10th Creative Doll Competition, Semi-Grand Prize and Fukushima Mayor's Award (2026) 【How to Order】 To those who have seen previous Mirai-chans and felt, "I want to welcome this being into my own home." What kind of expression will the next piece be born with? I hope you will enjoy the process of meeting it. After checking the concept and production conditions, if you are satisfied, please proceed with your purchase. If there is anything you would like to confirm before purchasing, please feel free to send a message.
