|░ Reasons to Love Jadeite ░|
"Jade nourishes the body for three years; the body nourishes jade for a lifetime."
Crystals possess a strong energy field but require regular cleansing. Jadeite, a natural hard jade, is known for its gentle and soft properties. While its energy field may not be as intense as crystals, jadeite's inherent energy is exceptionally pure, offering only beneficial influences and dispelling negative energy.
Jadeite contains over 40 discovered minerals, with its chemical composition being sodium aluminum silicate (NaAl[Si2O6]). It often includes trace elements such as calcium (Ca), chromium (Cr), nickel (Ni), manganese (Mn), magnesium (Mg), and iron (Fe).
White: Generally contains no impurities.
Red: Contains trivalent iron.
Black: Contains over 2% chromium.
Green: Contains over 2% chromium and divalent iron.
Yellow: Contains iron.
Purple: Contains manganese.
Blue: Similar to green, but rarer.
Trace element "Calcium" (Ca) is the most abundant mineral in the human body, primarily distributed in bones and teeth, with presence also in blood and muscles. Calcium is a vital regulator of bodily functions throughout life stages—infancy, adulthood, and old age. It plays a crucial role in maintaining health and longevity, being an essential macromineral.
Trace element "Chromium" (Cr) is crucial for maintaining normal physiological functions, helping prevent cardiovascular diseases, and regulating blood sugar. The body cannot synthesize it, requiring intake from natural foods or supplements. For type 2 diabetics, chromium can enhance insulin sensitivity. It aids in controlling cholesterol and blood sugar for those who are overweight and is lost more rapidly under stress, making it particularly important for these individuals.
Trace element "Nickel" (Ni) is an essential trace element for the human body. Adults typically contain 6-10 mg of nickel, mainly concentrated in the brain and liver. Nickel is absorbed in the intestines, with unabsorbed amounts excreted through feces. Only 10-20% of dietary nickel is absorbed by the body.
Trace element "Manganese" (Mn) is another protective trace element found in the human body and jadeite. Long-term wear of jadeite can promote blood circulation, accelerate metabolism, alleviate aging, and prevent age-related diseases.
Trace element "Magnesium" (Mg) is another essential macromineral. Like calcium, magnesium is vital for normal bone growth. Sufficient magnesium effectively regulates calcium and maintains normal neuromuscular function, acting synergistically with calcium. Magnesium can inhibit platelet aggregation, so deficiency may increase the risk of cardiovascular disease. Furthermore, magnesium deficiency can lead to chronic inflammation and is associated with the onset of various chronic diseases, particularly cardiovascular mortality. Studies suggest that individuals who drink hard water, with relatively higher calcium and magnesium content, have lower cardiovascular mortality rates. Thus, maintaining normal blood magnesium levels reduces the risk of atherosclerosis.
Trace element "Iron" (Fe) assists enzymes in biochemical reactions and metabolism, making it an essential trace element. Adult bodies typically contain 3-5 grams of iron, with 60-70% found in red blood cells. Other cells also require iron for proper functioning.
Medical research suggests jadeite possesses significant therapeutic properties. Long-term wear can prevent diseases and alleviate or even treat certain ailments.
Relieving Chest Tightness: For individuals with weaker constitutions who sometimes experience chest tightness, wearing a jadeite pendant can offer relief. The jadeite pendant emits energy into the "Long Han" and "Shen Fu" acupoints on the chest. Continuous massage can lead to lasting improvement.
Traditional Chinese Medicine Theory: In TCM, jadeite is believed to "clear internal heat, moisten the lungs and heart, nourish hair, strengthen the five organs, calm the spirit, clear blood vessels, and sharpen the senses."
Regularly wearing jadeite jewelry allows trace elements to be absorbed by the skin, promoting the harmonious balance of physiological functions in the body's organs.
Nourishing the Skin: Jadeite accessories, whether necklaces, earrings, or bracelets, come into direct contact with the skin. The mineral elements in jadeite enter the body, nourishing the skin and imparting a fairer, more radiant complexion.
Cooling Relief: The naturally cool property of jadeite offers a soothing and cooling sensation. During the Tang Dynasty, Emperor Yang Guifei would place jade in her mouth to alleviate summer heat. Since then, summer has become a season of cool tranquility, with jade pillows, bracelets, beds, and pendants used for their cooling effects.
The reasons above are scientifically supported. Another, less tangible reason is that when feeling down or stressed, gazing at jadeite can provide an inexplicable sense of emotional healing and comfort.
