(From *The Pillow Book* by Sei Shōnagon)" This is a necklace featuring lampwork beads, known as "Hotaru-dama" (firefly beads). Hotaru-dama are glass beads, each meticulously handcrafted by glass artisans. By layering silver foil and shades of blue glass onto a black base, a unique and mystical atmosphere is created, as if the blue is shimmering against the black. For those who love the color blue, this is a beauty that is sure to captivate the heart… ♪ Furthermore, for this piece, we have selected the glow-in-the-dark type of Hotaru-dama. When exposed to light and then viewed in a dark place… they glow with a blue-green hue ^^ The glow appears not as a solid light, but as scattered points, and the subtle variations in the intensity of the glow from bead to bead add to the romantic, firefly-like effect. To accentuate the beauty of the Hotaru-dama, the chain is simply adorned with small, round seed beads (approximately 2mm). To balance the substantial size of the Hotaru-dama (ranging from 12mm to 8mm), the chain is designed as a double strand. To complement the deep black base of the Hotaru-dama, black seed beads are used throughout. Interspersed amongst these are beads of the "three-cut" type, which feature random facets, subtly reflecting light like twinkling stars. The color transitions from solid black near the clasp at the back to incorporate a deep blue hue near the Hotaru-dama at the front, enhancing the overall aesthetic. The clasp has also been chosen in a black finish to ensure it blends discreetly with the design ♪ ☆The specification around the clasp has been revised (see image 6). ◇ ◇ ◇ Hotaru-dama are handmade items.
