Shop Owner's Note: It was through a serendipitous discovery that I learned someone in Taiwan was handcrafting wooden pens. Oh my goodness, I was absolutely delighted! My beloved Palo Santo now had another way to accompany and be used by me; my heart was filled with joy. And so, the finished product is here! The material is genuine Peruvian Inca Palo Santo raw wood that I personally import from Peru. Furthermore, the pen body adheres to the consistent principle of our store: no paint, no varnish. This allows you to experience the natural touch and aroma of wood in your hand. And its nib is also quite special – an alloy nib, equivalent to 20 regular pencils! I personally use this Palo Santo pen for writing these days. The writing in the photos was done with this very pen. P.S.: This pen is made from raw wood, so it features the natural wood grain, fragrance, and minor imperfections (small dark spots, tiny holes) that are inherent to the material. The craftsman always does their utmost to use the best parts. Therefore, if you are a perfectionist, please consider this carefully before purchasing. Also, the pens are shipped randomly; you won't be able to choose a specific one. I always select the wood with the most beautiful and abundant grain for the pens, ensuring each one is lovely. Its durability and resistance to degradation mean you can write in any environment. The graphite and alloy formula creates an ultra-hard, super-wear-resistant enhanced pencil nib, with one nib lasting as long as 20 traditional pencils. It can be erased with a standard eraser. The writing is a lighter shade, suitable for: note-taking, quick sketches, practice calculations, and general daily use. About Palo Santo: Inca Palo Santo is a "sacred wood" used by indigenous peoples in the Americas for rituals thousands of years ago. It holds profound significance for native communities. Lower-grade Palo Santo is burned in ceremonies to purify spaces and connect with the spirit world. Medium-grade Palo Santo is used to craft wands and ritual objects, while the highest quality Palo Santo is revered and not permitted for harvesting. In Peru, Inca Palo Santo is designated as a national treasure and cannot be arbitrarily felled. Only a very limited number of companies hold legal harvesting permits. Palo Santo, meaning "sacred wood" in South America, is a fitting name as it transforms into something sacred and medicinal from its birth, growth, to its death. Typically, an Inca Palo Santo tree lives for 80-90 years before it naturally dies. At this stage, it must remain in its pristine state for 4-10 years to complete the entire transformation process. Only in this condition, after this complete process, do the properties of Inca Palo Santo reach their full potential. Palo Santo has been used by shamans and healers in Peru and Ecuador for millennia, and even today, you can still see shamans and healers in the Andes Mountains incorporating Palo Santo into their rituals, and it has become even more prevalent.
