New products tend to have thicker leather. Once you've touched an older piece, you'll understand. The texture of new products is completely different from vintage pieces of the past. The Nappa leather from the old days was as smooth as a baby's skin (I sound like a pervert...|||||), but it was truly soft, light, and thin, with a weight so negligible that it felt like no burden at all when used! When I first started buying pre-owned bags, I was afraid of encountering fakes. However, a Japanese pre-owned store told me that Nappa leather products cannot be faked. You can tell the authenticity of this material just by touching it, as that lightness and softness are impossible for artificial or synthetic leather to imitate! In fact, the bags I use most often for daily work are LOEWE. I only use the beautiful bags on holidays. This is because Nappa leather is so soft, light, and thin, with a weight so negligible that it feels like no burden at all when used! For daily work use, the bag's own weight is very important because you're carrying it for extended periods. Otherwise, you'll be tired after a whole day and still have to carry a heavy bag... The entire bag, including the strap, is made of Nappa lambskin (again, emphasizing its softness). The front of the bag has a very deep debossed small LOEWE logo, with distinct raised stitching below – incredibly fine! Simple yet special. There are no significant scratches or marks on the front, back, or bottom. There are light signs of use, such as fine leather creases. The edges of the strap show some wear, and there's a small nick on one side. It's fine for normal use; just don't pull it forcefully. There is no peeling anywhere on the bag. The leather is in excellent condition with a natural sheen. The deep purple color shows no discoloration or stains. The strap has minor signs of use but no peeling; you'd have to look closely to notice. When worn, it doesn't look particularly old. The interior is fabric-lined and very clean with no stains. The brand's metal tag is bright and new. The interior zipper functions smoothly. Overall, there are no flaws that affect its use or are overtly noticeable. However, today, most processes are done by machines with minimal human assembly, losing the delicacy of the past. I think the simplest and most direct way to see this is to compare the new versions of classic monograms released by brands in recent years with the genuine old-school monograms. The level of detail in the monogram patterns alone is completely different. If you love monograms, you must look for pre-owned items! Truly! In terms of style, older pieces were more ✦ simple, timeless, and enduring. Many new designs today are actually remakes of older styles. However, new products are priced higher than older ones. New designs are usually based on older models, with added details or altered designs. The final product will always be more complex (or strange......) than the older models. Many new hardware pieces oxidize and discolor after just one or two years of use, but older models usually don't. Besides the high-quality materials and meticulous craftsmanship, hardware from earlier eras was plated with real K gold! Furthermore, with the recent popularity of vintage items among Japanese and Korean celebrities, once a certain style is seen on a celebrity, its price skyrockets, truly skyrockets.
