Thank you for your understanding. "Pat Pat" Aloe, scientifically known as Aloe descoingsii × Aloe haworthioides 'Aloe pepe', and commonly called 'Aloe pepe' in English. It belongs to the Asphodeloideae subfamily (formerly Liliaceae, now Asparagaceae), Aloe genus. This perennial succulent, also known as "Pat Pat Aloe," is a horticultural cultivar, a hybrid of Aloe descoingsii and Aloe haworthioides. It is often confused with its parent species, Aloe descoingsii. In older classifications, the Aloe subfamily was part of the Lily family (Liliaceae). However, due to the vastness of the Lily family, the Aloe subfamily was established as a separate family, Aloeaceae. This classification is not universally accepted by taxonomists. Later, through genetic analysis, it was reclassified under the Asphodelaceae family (Asphodeloideae), which includes genera like Aloe, Astroloba, Chortolirion, Gasteria, and Haworthia. Lomatophyllum and Poellnitzia have since been merged into Aloe and Astroloba respectively. In horticulture, the genera Aloe, Gasteria, and Haworthia are the most commonly cultivated. 【Appearance】 Short stem, upright growth without lateral branches. Leaves are alternate, arranged in a rosette at the stem's apex. Leaves are ovate-triangular, with acute tips and thorny ends, and a broad, blunt base. The leaf margins are entire. Leaves are about three centimeters long and fifteen millimeters wide. The leaf flesh is succulent, with deep green, olive green, or grey-green coloration. The leaf surface and margins feature small white tubercles and white fleshy spines. Leaves contain sap and have indistinct veins. There are no stipules or petioles. Flowers are bisexual, inferior, arranged in a raceme, paniculate. Inflorescences are solitary, about fifteen centimeters long, with pedicels. The perianth is bell-shaped, with six tepals in two whorns, fused at the base and slightly recurved at the tips. Flowers are orange-red with deep red tips. Six stamens are opposite the tepals, with exposed anthers. The anthers are two-celled, longitudinally dehiscent, and dorsifixed. The style is exposed, with three carpels, fused. The style is single or trifurcated and slender. The stigma is usually trifid. The ovary is superior and three-celled, with axile placentation. The fruit is a capsule, triangular, dehiscing loculicidally when mature, with numerous seeds. 【Care Instructions】 Highly adaptable to its environment, it only dislikes excessively damp conditions. It is a very easy-to-care-for plant. Light: Prefers a location with plenty of light and good ventilation. Full sun and partial shade are both suitable. Provide shade during very high temperatures in summer. Watering: Water when the soil is dry, approximately once a week. Avoid overwatering.
