Residing in Taiwan, they work diligently from a charming old apartment in Taipei, creating and producing their unique rubber stamps. With a background in magazine and book editing for publishing houses, Chamilgarden now focuses exclusively on stamp design. Each season, they release new handcrafted creations, with their collected works published across 8 volumes, showcasing over 100 distinct stamp designs. Their authored books include "A Handmade Life in 12 Hours a Week," "Rubber Stamps, Open the Door!", and "12 Lessons for Beginner Rubber Stampers: Next Stamp Class." Primarily using erasers as their carving medium, each stamp is a result of patient, detailed work, crafted line by line. Chamilgarden's stamp designs are often inspired by everyday discoveries, travel experiences, and cherished interests, incorporating elements such as text, flora, geometric patterns, nature, and architecture. Their distinctive style involves deconstructing and recombining elements, employing intricate line intersections, and balancing minimalist primary and secondary lines with foreign text and symbolic notations. They enjoy experimenting with stamps and colors, creating unique compositions through the solo and collaborative use of stamps of various sizes, and through layering. Many of their graphic designs also originate from fragments of their stamp art, extended through printmaking and combinations into pieces like postcards and washi tape.
