"The taste of love and reunion." Next to the old Jinyuanxing Minquan Road fabric store is an old shop selling mullet roe. The ceiling is adorned with mullet roe decorations, and there's a friendly elderly owner. During Lunar New Year when I was young, my grandmother would always prepare mullet roe, pan-fried with rice wine and sliced thinly to enjoy with hot pot. Growing up, eating mullet roe at banquets or company year-end parties always brings back memories of that simple and happy flavor. I recall an instance when I was buying mullet roe for a friend and watched the kind owner patiently wrap each slice and place it in a box. It was a touching sight.
