The cloth will darken with use, which is normal; do not wash it, as this will diminish its effectiveness. - Lightly brush with a toothbrush dipped in a small amount of dish soap or toothpaste, then dry thoroughly. - Dampen a clean cloth with a small amount of brass polish and wipe the item. This will restore the brass's luster.
