She is the youngest child of Prince Louis of France and Maria Josephna, Duchess of Saxony, and the sister of King Louis XVI. Élisabeth's father is the son and heir of King Louis XV and his popular wife, Queen Marie Leszczyńska. Élisabeth accompanied her brother and his family during the French Revolution, and she was executed during the reign of terror in the Revolution Square.
