Celine's pre-owned jewelry is actually not very common. This is because both brands historically produced a limited number of jewelry and accessory pieces each season, unlike Dior or Chanel, which offered an overwhelming variety. Consequently, their circulation is limited, and prices are not exactly low. However, considering the quality, they are significantly more cost-effective than modern pieces. Older jewelry was often handcrafted, with subtle variations in each detail, imbuing them with an ineffable artisanal warmth. Most CELINE vintage jewelry is gold-plated and made in Italy. The gold plating from that era was exceptionally thick, and pieces that have survived to this day show very little discoloration or oxidation (unless heavily used, leading to plating wear). As I've encountered more of these pieces, I've come to realize that CELINE vintage jewelry is absolutely on par with top-tier brands, and often more accessible in price. I've recently been collecting more for myself! The piece I'm selling now is the same one I own! I kept one for myself too! 100% authentic Celine necklace with its original box! It's a long necklace with multiple styling options. The simplest is to wear it as a single layer. For a shorter look, it can be doubled, or the clasp can be attached to the Triomphe emblem to create a half-short chain (which I find particularly stylish). A long necklace looks great with sweaters in the fall and winter! Beyond being a necklace, it can also be worn as a waist chain, and there's a clever hidden use: it can be a bag chain! Upon closer inspection, you'll notice the necklace's connecting points are expertly soldered. The craftsmanship in vintage jewelry is excellent, even the clasp connections are specially processed. This allows it to function as a bag chain and look incredibly chic. I personally have two necklaces that I've repurposed as bag chains, with a length suitable for a shoulder or underarm bag. However, careful consideration of the bag style is necessary, as the necklace wasn't originally designed to bear weight. Therefore, it's best suited for lightweight small bags, "baguette" style bags, or when the bag isn't heavily loaded. The previous identical piece sold out quickly to a lovely customer, and fortunately, I was able to source another one, even at a better price. This particular one does not come with a box. The base is brass + fully K gold plated (the plating technology from that era was thicker than modern versions!). Upon close inspection of the edges, you'll see signs of use, but no significant oxidation or gold loss. There are a few minor scratches. The color remains a rich golden hue. The design features a chain linked with the Triomphe clasp. The engravings on each Triomphe ring are very distinct. The clasp is engraved with "made in italy" and is designed to securely fasten without fear of falling off. Overall, the condition is good. Due to some signs of wear, the price is more affordable, but when worn, it looks completely unfaded. To reiterate, this is a 100% authentic CELINE necklace! Absolutely not a fake! Many current designs are actually revivals of older styles. However, new models are priced higher than their vintage counterparts. New designs are typically based on older models, with added details or modifications. The final product often ends up being more complex (or peculiar......) than the older versions. I believe as one grows older, they come to understand a fundamental truth: simplicity endures! As you age, your wardrobe tends to return to basic pieces because the most fundamental items are the most versatile. The quality of raw materials in older pieces is also superior to newer ones. If you understand leather, you'll recognize that the materials in many new items are inferior to older ones. This is mainly because the cost of high-quality raw materials is now too high, and their availability is less than in the past; global resources are dwindling! Furthermore, brands back then didn't have the ubiquitous presence of numerous stores like they do now. Their clientele typically had a certain level of income and high expectations for the finished product. There wasn't the "fast fashion" culture of today; a bag was expected to be used for many years. The difference between new and old eras is strikingly evident in the hardware. Many new bags' hardware oxidizes and discolors after just one or two years of use, but vintage pieces typically do not. During such periods, many people will frantically search for that specific model or a similar alternative, causing prices to multiply exponentially. Therefore, vintage is truly a case of "buy early, enjoy longer; buy late, pay more" (this isn't an advertising slogan... it's a truth in the vintage world...). This is my personal experience; I regret not acquiring many series earlier, as they are now impossible to find, or if found, come with an astronomical price tag.
