After indigo-dyeing the hemp tapestry, whales swimming towards a full moon are depicted using a discharge dyeing technique (removing color). The moon, doves, and other elements are created with patchwork. This tapestry uses jute, a material with a small environmental impact from cultivation to disposal. It can also be used as a table runner or a noren (traditional Japanese curtain). There is a hole at the top for a rod. This is a sale of the tapestry only. A hanging rod is not included. Please note that jute has a characteristic fuzziness, prickliness, and roughness. There may be slight distortion due to the dyeing process. Please consider these points before making a purchase.
