**Artisan Biography: Xie Zhong-Ren**
1973 Born in Fangyuan Township, Changhua County
1988 Began jade carving studies in Taipei
1993 Enrolled in vocational school for advertising design, integrating design concepts into his work
1994 Established his personal studio
2000 Awarded an honorable mention in the Craft category at the 14th Nanying Art Exhibition for his work "Waiting for the Opportunity"
August Participated in a jade and stone joint exhibition at the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall
2001 Invited to the Hualien International Arts Festival's local creation area for live carving demonstrations
2002 Selected for the 10th Taiwan Craft Design Competition, "Dream of Craftsmanship"
January Joint exhibition of jade and stone at the Hsinchu County Cultural Affairs Bureau
May Joint exhibition of jade and stone at the "Flowers and Trees Carnival" in Changhua County, featuring Luoxi stone inkstones

2012 Received an honorable mention in the Traditional Craft category at the Ministry of Culture and National Taiwan Craft Research Institute's Research and Development Center "Taiwan Craft Competition" for his work "Half Thought." Also awarded an honorable mention in the Craft category at the 21st Nanying Awards in Tainan City for his work "Serene Landscape."
2013 Invited to exhibit in the "Cross-Strait Jade Carving Masters Exchange Exhibition" at the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, showcasing his work in the Taiwan Jade Carving Masters section.
2016 Invited by the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Center to exhibit at the Presidential Office Gallery as part of the "Gathering Around the Hearth - Sustainable Craft Exhibition," displaying three pieces: "Japanese-style Sushi," "Handmade Mochi," and "Leaping Moment."
2017 Work "Lingering Lotus, Spring's Intent" received an honorable mention at the Taoyuan Arts Exhibition in Taoyuan City.
2018 Held a solo exhibition, "Xie Zhong-Ren's 30 Years of Jade Carving - The Continuation of Culture," at the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall.
2019 January - June Invited by the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Center to exhibit at the Presidential Office Gallery as part of the "Feast · Happiness" exhibition, showcasing his work "Auspicious Dragon Delivering Blessings."
2020 Featured in the "Joyful Heart, Shining Art - Taiwan Craft Development Association Boutique Exhibition," held concurrently at the Hsinchu County Cultural Affairs Bureau (July 29 - August 16) and the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Center's Taipei Contemporary Craft Design Branch (October 6, 2020 - February 28, 2021).
2021 October - November Exhibited his work "Japanese-style Sushi" in the "Creative Regeneration, Green Craftsmanship" exhibition hosted by the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Center.
2021 Work "Handmade Mochi" was selected for the Taiwan Craft Competition and toured various locations, including the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Center's Taipei Contemporary Craft Design Branch, Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Xinyi Store, Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Tainan Ximen Store, and Taichung Store.
