Bun Festival Postcard

/Cheung Chau Bamboo Scaffolding Postcard/ A traditional festival in Cheung Chau, held annually on the eighth day of the fourth lunar month. The festival originated from a time when a plague struck Cheung Chau. Residents held the Da Jiu festival and fasted for three days, praying for divine protection. During the festival, residents build three giant bun mountains, three statues of the Great Taoist King (Tai Shing Wong), and opera stages to appease the deities.
