In late 2024, just before a scheduled business trip to Korea, a sudden curfew was announced. It was lifted just before our flight, and we arrived in Korea without incident. However, upon reaching the subway, we found ourselves trapped in a train car as protesting crowds surged in. We were squeezed, struggling to breathe and move, almost floating. Inside, we kept asking ourselves, "What do we do? Could this turn into a stampede?" We constantly encouraged each other to stay calm, find ways to breathe, keep our heads up, and most importantly, stand firm to avoid falling. Thankfully, after a few stops, the overwhelming crowd disembarked at Yeouido Station, leaving us shaken and in tears. A few stops later, we exited the subway and unexpectedly stumbled upon Hyejin's exhibition. The cats' languid and serene postures instantly calmed the turbulent waves we had just experienced. Us, dazed and frightened, felt as though we were firmly back on solid ground. It truly made us feel, from the bottom of our hearts, that it's wonderful to have cats in this world. Hyejin's cat creations are such treasures.
