Spanish Antique 24K Gold Damascene Inlay Arrow Motif Pendant, Reimagined as Pearl Earrings

During the process of collecting antique jewelry, I've gathered several incomplete pieces. These have been personally re-imagined by the curator, combining materials to give antique jewelry new life. **While the arrow motif pendant itself is antique, all other components have been re-crafted by the curator using modern materials.** ▰▰▰▰▰▰Damascene▰▰▰▰▰▰ Spanish Damascene craftsmanship, a metal inlay technique, can be traced back over 2000 years to Damascus, the capital of Syria. It later arrived on the Iberian Peninsula (modern-day Spain and Portugal) in the early 8th century with the Moorish invasions, and simultaneously spread to Japan via the Silk Road. The Moors, who were Arabs from Asia and North Africa, practiced Islam and were collectively known as 'los moros' or 'los musulmanes' at the time. They ruled a large part of Spain for over 300 years after their invasion, and even after being driven out of central Spain, they maintained prosperity in the Andalusia region of southern Iberia for more than three centuries. After nearly 8 centuries of rule, they were finally expelled by the Spanish Catholic Monarchs in 1492, marking the completion of Spain's unification. Although the Arab kingdom had passed, it profoundly influenced Spanish culture in various aspects, leaving behind a rich heritage. The technique involves using iron or copper alloy as the base, into which fine lines are etched. Thin sheets of real gold and silver are then shaped into patterns and hammered into these lines. After this, the piece is lacquered and fired to prevent oxidation and rust, followed by polishing and fine engraving.
