I made a backpack for BSA Boy Scouts from the 1950s with No. 6 canvas.
With the adjuster attached to the side gusset part, it is possible to adjust the gusset width according to the amount of luggage.
When you have a lot of luggage, use a box type with a maximum gusset width of 15 cm to have enough capacity, and when you have a small amount of luggage, eliminate the gusset.
The front accessory storage pocket has a zipper on the side for easy access.
For those who like old style, it is a tough backpack.
