We appreciate your understanding!** We have consistently focused on original designs for raw wood spoons, intended for use with tea, as dessert dishes, fruit bowls, or for display. The wooden spoon pendants were initially conceived as distinctive accessories for our studio designers, but they garnered such appreciation from others that we decided to offer this series. Aged cypress wood is exceptionally rare. **The aged wood in our studio is sourced from old furniture and beams from ancestral homes in our hometown.** Larger pieces are reserved for substantial creations, while only smaller wood fragments are transformed into accessories. Thank you! **> Cypress Wood** Cypress, alongside pine, is esteemed as the **foremost among trees**. Wang Anshi, in his "Shuo Zi," explains that "Cypress is like 'bo' (earl/chief), hence the character includes 'bai' (white)." Thus, it is called cypress wood. Due to its high resin content, cypress wood dries slowly and is exceptionally resistant to decay. Cypress trees grow remarkably slowly; the two trees in my childhood hometown remain largely unchanged to this day, with no discernible growth. Consequently, cypress wood is fine-grained, hard, with smooth, clear, and exquisite grain patterns, presenting a dignified natural hue. New cypress wood tends to be lighter in color. Aged cypress, however, possesses a deeper hue and a more mellow, pleasant aroma. **With time, its color deepens, imparting an aura of rustic elegance.** ∨ We firmly believe that "wood" is a material imbued with warmth, its colors and textures telling stories of nature.
