Sky blue clay has a wide firing temperature range, resulting in significant color variations. It is produced about a hundred meters west of the north side of Dashuitan in Lishu. The raw ore is uniform and fine in texture, appearing as a dense block that is purplish-brown and slightly translucent red. It is brittle yet slightly hard, with very few white mica fragments. The surface exhibits a conchoidal fracture pattern and has a white waxy luster (which forms white speckles after firing). The cross-section is purplish-black with a hint of red. In the past, because the color of this ore resembled sky blue dye, it was habitually called "Sky Blue Clay." The processed clay is relatively fine with good plasticity. When forming, it has a certain sandy texture. It has a wide firing temperature range, typically around 1160-1210°C, with a shrinkage rate of about 8%. After firing, it presents a deep liver color with a fine pear-skin texture on the surface. The body is fine, dense, moist, and lustrous, with a delicate and rich color effect.
