|░ Reasons to Love Jadeite ░|
"A person nourishes jade for three years, and jade nourishes a person for a lifetime."
Crystals possess strong energy fields but require regular cleansing. Jadeite, a natural hard jade, is gentle and mild. While its energy field may not be as powerful as crystals, jadeite's inherent energy is exceptionally pure and clean, offering only beneficial influences and dispelling negative energy.
Currently, over 40 minerals have been discovered in jadeite. Its chemical composition is Sodium Aluminum Silicate—NaAI〔Si2 O6〕, often containing trace elements such as Calcium (Ca), Chromium (Cr), Nickel (Ni), Manganese (Mn), Magnesium (Mg), and Iron (Fe).
White: Basically contains no impurities.
Red: Contains trivalent iron.
Black: Contains more than 2% chromium.
Green: Contains more than 2% chromium and bivalent iron.
Yellow: Contains the element iron.
Purple: Contains the element manganese.
Blue: Basically similar to green, but rarer than other colors.
Calcium (Ca), a trace element, is the most abundant mineral in the human body, primarily distributed in bones and teeth, with calcium also present in blood and muscles. Calcium is a vital regulator of human life activities, fulfilling important physiological functions throughout all stages of growth and development, from childhood to adulthood and old age. It is an indispensable macro-mineral essential for human health and longevity.
Chromium (Cr), a trace element, is crucial for maintaining normal physiological functions, helping prevent cardiovascular diseases, and regulating blood sugar. The human body cannot synthesize it independently and must absorb it through natural foods or supplements. For individuals with Type 2 diabetes, chromium can enhance insulin sensitivity. It benefits overweight individuals by helping control cholesterol and blood sugar. Those under high stress lose chromium faster than average, making it particularly important for these three groups.
Nickel (Ni), a trace element, is essential for the human body. Adults typically contain 6-10 mg of nickel, primarily found in the brain and liver. Nickel is absorbed in the human intestines, with unabsorbed nickel largely excreted through feces. Only 10-20% of nickel from food is absorbed by the body.
Manganese (Mn), a trace element, is another type of protective trace element for the human body. Jadeite also contains this element. Long-term wear of jadeite can promote blood circulation, accelerate metabolism, alleviate aging, and prevent certain age-related diseases.
Magnesium (Mg), like calcium, is a macro-mineral essential for normal bone growth. Sufficient magnesium effectively regulates calcium and maintains normal nerve and muscle function, with both elements working synergistically. Magnesium can inhibit platelet aggregation, so deficiency may increase the risk of cardiovascular diseases. Furthermore, magnesium deficiency can increase chronic inflammation in the body and is linked to the onset of many chronic diseases, particularly cardiovascular mortality. Studies have shown that individuals who drink hard water, which has relatively higher calcium and magnesium content, have lower mortality rates from cardiovascular diseases. Therefore, maintaining normal blood magnesium levels reduces the risk of atherosclerosis.
Iron (Fe), a trace element, aids in biochemical reactions through enzymes and assists in metabolism, making it one of the "essential trace elements" for the human body. Adult bodies typically contain 3-5 grams of iron, with 60-70% distributed in red blood cells. Other cells also require iron to function smoothly.
Medical research indicates that jadeite possesses powerful healing capabilities. Long-term wear of jadeite can not only prevent diseases but also alleviate or even treat certain conditions.
Treating Chest Tightness: Some individuals with weaker constitutions may occasionally experience chest tightness. Wearing a jadeite pendant can help treat common chest tightness. The jadeite pendant emits energy that stimulates the "Long Han" and "Shen Fu" acupoints on the chest. Through continuous massage, it can achieve a root-cause resolution.
Traditional Chinese Medicine Theory: In TCM, jadeite is believed to have the following effects: "clearing middle-jiao heat, moistening the heart and lungs, nourishing hair and skin, tonifying the five organs, calming the spirit, improving blood circulation, and enhancing vision and hearing."
Regularly wearing jadeite jewelry allows trace elements to be absorbed by the skin, aiding in the coordination and balance of physiological functions in the body's organs.
Nourishing the Skin: Jadeite ornaments, whether necklaces, earrings, or bracelets, can come into direct contact with the skin. The mineral elements within the jadeite are thus absorbed by the body, nourishing women's skin and making them appear fairer and more radiant.
Relieving Summer Heat: The cooling properties of jadeite provide a therapeutic and soothing sensation, helping to relieve the heat. During the Tang Dynasty, Yang Guifei would place jade in her mouth to alleviate summer heat, establishing a tradition of cool summer days. Jade pillows, bracelets, beds, and pendants were used to combat the heat.
The above are evidence-based reasons for valuing jadeite. Another, less tangible, reason is its ability to provide inexplicable emotional comfort when feeling down or stressed, offering a sense of solace.
