1973 Born in Fangyuan Township, Changhua County
1988 Studied jade carving techniques in Taipei
1993 Pursued advertising design in vocational school, integrating design concepts into his work
1994 Established his own studio
2000 Won an honorable mention in the craft category at the 14th Nanying Art Exhibition for his work "Waiting for the Opportunity"
August Participated in a joint jade exhibition at the Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall
2001 Invited to participate in the Hualien International Art Festival, demonstrating live carving in the local creation zone
2002 Selected for the 10th Taiwan Craft Design Competition, "Dream of Craft," with an award. January: Joint jade exhibition at the Hsinchu County Cultural Affairs Bureau.
May: Joint jade exhibition featuring Luo Creek stone carvings at the Changhua County "Flower and Tree Carnival."
October-December: Invited by the Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Cultural Foundation and the Hualien Cultural Affairs Bureau for the "Grand View of Stones" exhibition held in department stores across northern, central, and southern Taiwan.
2003 Invited by the National Taiwan Craft Research Institute to exhibit works such as "Lotus Ecological Charm" at the Presidential Office's "Taitung Local Crafts Exhibition."
2004 March-June: Featured in the National Education Radio's "Arts and Humanities Corridor - Hsieh Chung-Jen Jade Carving Exhibition."
Selected for the 12th Taiwan Craft Design Competition, "Dream of Craft."
October-January 2005: Solo exhibition at the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall.
2005 Invited by the National Taiwan Museum to exhibit his indigenous carving "Taiwanese Snacks - Braised Pork Rice."
June-September: Participated in the "Sherlock Holmes Exhibition" with an exchange with the National Museum of the Czech Republic, exhibiting works.
Founded the brand "Yu Ning Shi" and opened counters in department stores.
Mid-December: Exhibited at the Sogo Department Store's "Craft Master" exhibition.
2007 Invited to participate in the "Crafts Zero Distance - Application of Living Crafts Special Exhibition" at the Executive Yuan Gallery, hosted by the National Taiwan Craft Research Institute.
2008 His work "Japanese-Style Nigiri Sushi" was selected for the "Taiwan Craft Competition" at the National Taiwan Craft Research Institute.
2012 Received an honorable mention in the Traditional Craft category at the Ministry of Culture and National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute's "Taiwan Craft Competition" for his work "Half Thought." Received an honorable mention in the craft category at the 21st Tainan City "Nanying Award" for his work "Ling Jing Mountain Scenery."
2013 Exhibited at the Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall in the "Cross-Strait Jade Carving Exchange Gathering," invited to exhibit in the Taiwanese Jade Master Zone.
2016 Invited by the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute to exhibit at the Presidential Office Gallery as part of the "Gathering Around the Hearth - Sustainable Craft Exhibition," showcasing three works: "Japanese-Style Nigiri Sushi," "Handmade Mini Mochi," and "Leaping Moment."
2017 His work "Remnant Lotus Spring" received an honorable mention at the Taoyuan City Taoyuan Art Exhibition.
2018 Held the solo exhibition "Hsieh Chung-Jen Jade Carving 30 Years: The Continuation of Culture" at the Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall.
2019 January-June: Invited by the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute to exhibit his work "Auspicious Dragon Presents Greetings" at the Presidential Office Gallery's "Feast · Happiness" exhibition.
2020 Featured in the "Joyful Heart, Shining Art - Taiwan Craft Development Association Boutique Exhibition," held concurrently at the Hsinchu County Government Cultural Affairs Bureau (July 29 - August 16) and the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute's Taipei Contemporary Craft Design Branch (October 6 - February 28, 2021).
2021 October-November: Exhibited his work "Japanese-Style Nigiri Sushi" at the "Creative Regeneration Green Craft" exhibition, hosted by the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute.
His work "Handmade Mini Mochi" was selected for the 2021 Taiwan Craft Competition and toured at the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute's Taipei Contemporary Craft Design Branch, Xinyi Eslite, Xinyi Shin Kong Mitsukoshi, and Taichung Shin Kong Mitsukoshi stores.
