The "cv." in the scientific name indicates it is a cultivated variety, essentially a horticultural variant of the Echinopsis genus known for its prolific flowering. The plant is cylindrical to elongated cylindrical in shape with a greenish-blue epidermis. The ribs on the upper part of the body are adorned with white crown hairs, forming distinctive ridges that look like fine white lines.
