It deepens in color over time with exposure to sunlight and air; for example, brown will mature into a caramel hue. * Unlike leather with a chemical coating, this material retains the natural marks from the cow's life, such as "scars" from playful encounters, "insect bites" from mosquito encounters, and "growth lines" from fluctuations in weight. While we endeavor to "avoid" these characteristics during production where possible without compromising usability, minor imperfections in the grain may still be present.
