The artist carefully controls the thickness of each glaze layer before firing it at 1260 degrees Celsius. After 20 hours of intense heat, the glaze shrinks and flows within the kiln, creating the intricate patterns and fluid movement reminiscent of peacock feathers. The difficulty in firing lies in precisely managing the thickness of each glaze layer and adjusting the temperature curve. If the glaze is too thin or the temperature is insufficient, the peacock feather pattern won't form. Conversely, if it's too thick or the temperature is too high, the glaze will flow onto the accompanying plate, damaging both the teacup and the plate. Ambient temperature also influences the final result. Numerous factors are at play, and even after years of dedicated study, achieving perfect control over these variations remains elusive. However, it is precisely this unpredictability that makes each finished piece so precious. It is hoped that this artwork will inspire everyone to maintain hope when facing challenges, to persevere with unwavering effort, and to one day unfurl their own beautiful feathers like a peacock, illuminating their lives with brilliance!
