Embrace a life touched by art. Let's ART in your Life! Infuse your daily life with the essence of Ukiyo-e, savoring the beauty of classic Japan. | Design Philosophy Reimagining the beauty of classic Ukiyo-e through a modern aesthetic lens, this piece is crafted on meticulously selected, subtly textured art paper. It transforms a centuries-old Japanese art form into an element of everyday beauty. Whether adorning your space or presented as a thoughtful gift, it allows the delicate brushstrokes and vibrant colors of Ukiyo-e to seamlessly integrate into your routine, infusing your life with elegance and poetry. It’s an experience where art is not just observed, but becomes a tangible, beautiful part of your world. | Inspired by "Tokaido Shinagawa Gotenyama no Fuji" by Katsushika Hokusai, from the U.S. Library of Congress Collection Katsushika Hokusai (Japanese: 葛飾 北斎/Katsushika Hokusai; October 31, 1760 – May 10, 1849) was born Tokitaro Nakajima in Edo (present-day Tokyo) in 1760. He was an Ukiyo-e artist of Japan's late Edo period and a representative figure of Japan's 'kasei' culture. He began learning woodblock printing at age 14 and studied painting under the Ukiyo-e artist Katsukawa Shunsho at 18, marking the start of his long and prolific artistic career. In 1826, to support the development of domestic tourism in Japan and driven by his personal fascination with Mount Fuji, Hokusai created the landscape series "Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji." This series brought him widespread fame, with "Fine Wind, Clear Morning" (Gaifū kaisei) and "The Great Wave off Kanagawa" (Kanagawa oki nami ura) becoming his most renowned works. His daughter, Katsushika Ōi, was also a well-known painter. Hokusai was born in the Katsushika district, on the eastern outskirts of Edo, and later became the adopted son of a mirror polisher. In his youth, he worked as an apprentice in a lending library, delivering books around town. In his spare time, he studied painting and illustrations under artists such as Katsukawa Shunsho and Hishikawa Sōri. He began publishing his works at the age of 19 and passed away at the age of 90, leaving behind an estimated thirty-five thousand works throughout his lifetime. | Specifications Size: H25.7 × W36.4 × D0.1 cm Packaging Material: OPP Bag Product Material: Art Paper Quantity: 1 piece Origin: Taiwan
