It is recommended to establish a routine for cleansing your crystals, for instance, on the 1st of every month or during the full moon (the 15th of the lunar calendar). There are many methods for cleansing crystals, and detailed explanations can be found in books and online. However, many commonly mentioned methods involve soaking in salt water. As some crystals and metals are delicate and can be damaged by salt or water, Joyce personally advises against this method. If you have white/purple crystal chips, geodes, or clusters, you can place your pendulum inside or on top of them when not in use. Of course, the chips, geodes, and clusters used for cleansing also need regular purification, such as sun cleansing or moon cleansing. Joyce finds __smudge cleansing__ to be the most effective method! You can light palo santo, dried cedar leaves, dried sage leaves, or incense sticks, and then **use the smoke to cleanse the crystal**.
