During the Renaissance, he was not only a renowned diplomat and politician in Italy but also a great patron of the artists and poets who brought the nation to unprecedented prosperity. In this game, players embody the most powerful and prestigious historical figures of Florence. "Lorenzo il Magnifico" is a complex strategy game where luck plays no part. Players dispatch family members to action spaces in various cities to carry out actions. The action value of family members changes each round, making the game more challenging. Players will conquer new territories, fund magnificent constructions, sponsor adventurous investments, and support retainers to gain their patronage and affection. If players possess sufficient wisdom and influence, they can attract more renowned and influential figures of the era and enlist their support. In "Lorenzo il Magnifico," each player leads a noble family in Renaissance Florence, striving to accumulate more prestige and fame than other players to earn the most points. To achieve this goal, players must send their family members to various districts in different cities to gain various achievements. In some districts, they will acquire useful resources; in others, they will obtain Development cards, including conquering new territories, building constructions, supporting retainers, or investing in public works and strengthening national power; and in yet other districts, they can activate card effects. The status of family members is dynamic. The 3 dice rolled at the start of each round determine their action value, requiring careful consideration of where to send your high-value family members. There are many ways to gain points, but you must pay attention to your relationship with the Papacy. The game is played over three periods, with two rounds per period. Before the end of each period, players must demonstrate their devotion to the Papacy; insufficient piety will result in severe penalties.
