The Purple Sunwing butterfly is a subspecies endemic to Taiwan, also known as the Red-bordered Yellow-little-grey butterfly due to its wing coloration. The underside of its wings is yellowish-brown, with orange wave-like patterns along the edges. It is commonly found from plains to low-altitude mountainous areas. The larvae feed on Polygonum chinense, and adult butterflies can be seen year-round. They are often observed sipping nectar from wildflowers along roadsides, and their numbers are abundant. The wings are dusted with silver powder, allowing the shimmering wings to flutter gracefully by your ears. The decorative dangling stones are red aventurine, attached to the post. The total length is approximately 3cm, so they will gently hang behind your earlobe.
