Artist: Kwood
https://images2.imgbox.com/66/c6/wVo3QFy7_o.jpeg
Born in Hsinchu, Taiwan, in 1983, Kwood comes from a background in craft design. He once wandered the streets of Japan, experiencing how wooden art infused the old alleyways with warm and profound vitality. These objects, like fragments of time, carrying the traces of history and the contours of the future, seek a delicate balance between contrast and harmony, transforming into exquisite works that intimately connect the perspectives of the new generation with the simplicity of the old era. Agarwood, once ground into powder for appreciation, was solemnly placed in the most auspicious location in Japanese homes, symbolizing vitality and light.
The agarwood originates from its place of origin, pure and flawless, untouched by artificial processes such as boiling glue, drawing lines, or adding fragrances. It presents itself in its most original form. Through ancient fragrance-extraction techniques, the outer layers of deadwood are meticulously stripped by hand, revealing the true soul of the agarwood. This not only bestows eternal vitality but also allows tradition and modern craftsmanship to quietly intertwine at your fingertips, creating a feast for the eyes and senses. The rich aroma, like solidified time, gently connects past memories with future aspirations, allowing them to meet and resonate within the fragrance, unfolding continuously, distant and profound.
