This online course features pre-recorded videos with no viewing expiry, allowing for repeated watching and revision. It is ideal for those with less predictable schedules.
During the pandemic, Atelier Llewellyn transitioned its in-person workshops into an online learning experience. This allows individuals who wish to learn basic hand-sewing, whether during this period or before or after, but are unable to attend the studio due to residing in other cities or conflicting schedules, to learn comfortably from home.
The Atelier Llewellyn designer has meticulously recreated the content of their in-person workshops. Through detailed video explanations and demonstrations, this course aims to clarify those steps that may have left you feeling lost after searching through countless tutorials. Should any questions arise during your learning journey, you are welcome to contact the designer via internal message, and we will do our utmost to assist you.

Have you ever kept clothes with loose stitching, missing buttons, or undone clasps simply because you didn't know how to perform simple repairs yourself or for your family?
In recent years, the growth of fast fashion has transformed and impacted many consumers' habits regarding clothing purchases and wear. Many garments might not even be worn out before they are discarded, which seems a shame!
However, regardless of how fast fashion reshapes our lives, there will always be cherished items we wish to preserve or continue wearing in our daily lives. No matter how carefully we care for our clothes, there will come a time when repairs are needed – like the buttons on shirts or coats that are no longer secure, loose hems on trousers or skirts, fallen stitches causing holes, or even the desire to alter a length.
Through units focusing on different hand-sewing techniques, this course is designed for absolute beginners who are interested in learning to sew. The goal is to equip you with the skills to perform basic hand-sewing and simple garment pressing at home, enabling you to carry out practical repairs independently.
This online course teaches only fundamental hand-sewing techniques. It includes a practical piece (for practice) that can be kept as a reference sample for future self-review upon completion.
