Matte Glaze and Flowing Amber Medium Plate

Fine-grained white pottery clay that makes the glaze colors stand out. A warm, slightly off-white matte glaze. This medium-sized plate is created by combining these elements. A touch of amber-colored glaze on the rim accentuates the dish, creating a flowing pattern. A medium-sized plate, typically 15-18cm in diameter, is perfect for use as a larger side plate, a portion plate for a single serving, or a cake plate. Its near-white color makes it easy to pair with various dishes, but it harmonizes particularly well with ingredients that evoke an earthy feel, such as root vegetables. Imagine it with sautéed lotus root or daikon radish sprinkled with green onions, or perhaps with creamy taro or sweet potato salad, or even carrotラペ. All processes, from kneading the clay to shaping, bisque firing, glazing, and final firing, are done by hand in our studio, equipped with a small electric kiln and an electric potter's wheel. While we cannot mass-produce, each piece has its own unique character, and you can enjoy the subtle charm that comes from being handmade. The item you receive will be the same as pictured. The base of the plate has been sanded to minimize scratching your table. We are constantly exploring new combinations of glazes and clays, creating a variety of ceramics in different colors and shapes. Each piece is unique, seemingly similar but truly one-of-a-kind. For this reason, we treat our tableware with a water-blocking agent before shipping, so there is no need for a "water-stop" treatment (目止め - 'me-dome') upon purchase. This water-blocking treatment requires 2-3 days, which is why we set the shipping period to 5 days from the order date. If you do not require the water-blocking treatment, please let us know at the time of purchase. - Cutlery shown in the product images is not included. - The plate will appear whiter under fluorescent or morning light, and more yellowish under evening light or incandescent bulbs. - We strive to photograph and edit product images to be as true to the actual product as possible, but please understand that colors may appear differently depending on your monitor settings and lighting conditions. - As this item is also sold on other sites, in the rare event of overlapping purchases, the item will be delivered to the customer who completes the purchase procedure first.
