- Sulawesi striped ebony, Indonesia's national treasure wood, is known as the "black pearl among timbers." It sinks in water due to its extremely dense structure, with hard, heavy, and uniform material. The black wood is interspersed with light-colored stripes ranging from greyish-brown to light red. It is wear-resistant and does not deform after drying.
